Registration for individual children in our recreational programs (soccer, basketball, flag football, baseball, volleyball and softball)

Registration for full teams that have a minimum of 7 players and a coach!  By registering as a team, you get discounted rates for each player!

If your player or team is advanced and is looking for an accelerated experience, register with our AZ Club Prep program today!

REGISTRATION SCHEDULE:

• $70-$75 - Early registration
• $80-$85 - Registration
• $90-$95 - Late registration

  • South Valley Junior High School (tbd)
    • These locations will serve most of Gilbert and also Chandler families north of the 202.
• East Mesa:
  • ​Desert Ridge Junior High School (tbd)
  • Highland Junior High (tbd)
    • These locations will serve all east Mesa and many East Gilbert families.
• Central/North Mesa:
• Franklin at Brimhall Junior High School (tbd)
• Poston Junior High (tbd)
  • These locations will serve North and Central Mesa
• Queen Creek & San Tan Valley:
  • Newell Barney Junior High School (tbd)
  • Queen Creek Middle School (tbd)
    • These locations will host games for teams from Queen Creek and San Tan Valley
• Chandler:
• Payne Junior High School (tbd)
  • This location will host games for teams mostly from Chandler

AGE GROUPS

• Soccer – 3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9*, 10-12*
• Flag Football – 5-6*, 7-8*, 9-10*, 11-12*, 13-14*
• Volleyball – 7-9*, 10-11*, 12-14*
• Basketball – 4-5, 6-7, 8-9*, 10-11*, 12-13*
• Baseball – 3-4, 5-6, 7-9, 10-12*
• Girls Softball – 7-9, 10-12*

*This age division participates in a tournament*

GAME PLAY FORMAT

• Soccer – Rec-style, Tournament style for older divisions only
• Flag football – Tournament style (beginner to advanced)
• Volleyball – Tournament style (beginner to advanced)
• Basketball – Tournament style (beginner to advanced), rec-style for younger divisions
• Baseball/Softball – Rec style (beginner – intermediate), Tournament style for older divisions only

We are always looking for new parent coaches! Please consider volunteering to coach your child’s team!

• The league will provide some equipment for some sports for practice
• Sample practices and playbooks are available to all coaches

• Coaches are parent volunteers - Practice times and locations are arranged at the coach’s discretion. 
• Practices are generally held outside during the weekday evenings.
• *AZYS does not provide teams with practice locations and players are required to supply their own ball; i.e., soccer ball, volleyball, basketball etc...

Your registration fee includes your team shirt for all sports and a hat for baseball and softball.

Team Shirts are provided to all players.
Hats are provided to Baseball/Softball only.
Please view the rules for the appropriately sized ball needed for your player.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED BY PARENTS

• Baseball – Athletic pants/shorts, athletic shoes, glove and a batting helmet (required).
  • Bat and balls are optional, league provides practice equipment to coaches.
• Basketball – Mouthguard (recommended), athletic shorts/pants, athletic shoes and a basketball.
• Flag Football – Mouthguard (highly recommended), athletic shorts/pants, athletic shoes and a football.
  • Cleats are optional.
• Soccer – Shin guards (required), athletic shorts/pants, athletic shoes and a soccer ball.
  • Cleats and soccer socks are optional.
• Softball (Girls) – Athletic pants/shorts, athletic shoes, glove and a batting helmet (required).
  • Bat and balls are optional, league provides practice equipment to coaches.
• Volleyball – Knee pads (highly recommended), athletic shorts/pants, athletic shoes and a volleyball.
