Basketball

AZYS SUMMER BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL CLINICS!

This is a great way to advance your child's basketball or volleyball skills before the next season!

Your player will work with AZYS staff to improve on the fundamentals of basketball (dribbling, shooting and passing) and volleyball (serving, passing and hitting)

4 different time sessions every Saturday during the month of June - 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th

There are multiple time sessions at two different locations to choose from!

Your player will be taught the fundamentals and skills of their favorite sport from an experienced staff member!

 

DATES:

  • May 29 - Last Day For Registration

  • June 5 - Session 1
  • June 12 - Session 2
  • June 19 - Session 3
  • June 26 - Session 4

VOLLEYBALL

Age Groups : 10-11, 12-14

Equipment required:

  • knee pads, black shorts, shoes, lite/standard size volleyball.
  • Team Shirts are provided to all players

Players will be split up into different age divisions and will learn  and work on the fundamentals of volleyball and practice serving, hitting, and passing. 

Week 1: Kindness

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • Week one will focus on basic Volleyball rules, passing footwork and technique

Week 2: Respect

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • Week two will teach the players serving technique

Week 3: Sportsmanship

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • Week three will practice hitting and passing
    • The older groups will focus on technique and footwork
    • The younger groups will focus on passing reps and drills

Week 4: Teamwork

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • The players will be split into teams and scrimmage. Coaches will interact within the game and help correct technique as they play.

Basketball

AGE GROUPS:  8-9, 10-11, 12-13

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

  • mouthguard recommended, shoes, shorts, 27.5'/28.5' basketball.
  • Team Shirts are provided to all players

Players will be split up into different age divisions and will learn and work on the fundamentals of Basketball and practice ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense. 

Week 1: Kindness

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • Week one will focus on basic ball handling and passing drills with a 30 minute scrimmage

Week 2: Respect

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • Week two will teach the players how to shoot and learn how to play defense. The session will end with a 30 minute scrimmage

Week 3: Sportsmanship

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • Week three will practice rebounding and learn the fundamentals of basketball. The session will finish up with a 30 minute scrimmage

Week 4: Teamwork

  • Players will stretch and warm up
  • The players will be split into teams and scrimmage. Coaches will interact within the game and help correct technique as they play.
